Texas Hold’em Poker
Poker is one of the most exciting live money games in the world. Among the different variations of the game, Texas Hold’em Poker has become extremely popular. The following information is provided by Wikipedia, which explains more about the game:

Texas hold ’em (also known as hold ’em or holdem) is a variation of the standard card game of poker. Texas hold ’em consists of two cards (hole cards) being dealt face down to each player and then five community cards being placed face-up by the dealer—a series of three (“the flop”) then an additional single card (“the turn” or “fourth”) and another additional card (“the river” or “fifth street”)—with players having the option to check, bet, raise or fold after each deal; i.e., betting may occur prior to the flop, “on the flop”, “on the turn”, and “on the river”.

Mastering the game of poker can lead to winning great pots in cash games. Those are games where you buy-in for a certain dollar amount, and you’re able to leave at any time. These types of games have different table levels which can be identified as high stakes, and low stakes. The Marina Club is the perfect place to learn the game and eventually master it.

Three Card Poker

Marina Club offers the fun game called Three Card Poker. It is becoming on of the most popular new table games. Players are discovering that Three Card Poker is not only easy to play but it is a lot of fun.

The game is played with a single deck of 52 cards. Three Card Poker is actually two games in one. There is the Play/Ante game where you are playing against the dealer to see who has the highest hand. There is also the Pair Plus game where you are wagering on whether or not you will be dealt a pair or better. In most casinos you can bet on either of the games but some casinos require you to make an Ante Bet in order to bet the Pair Plus portion of the game.

The range is bonuses and bonus amounts are huge, and the game is fun. Anyone who likes poker and hasn’t tried this game should definitely check it out. At Casino Monterey (Marina Club) we will be more than happy to show you how to play the game. Be prepared for an exciting time!

Pai Gow Poker

Pai gow poker (also called double-hand poker) is an Americanized version of pai gow (in that it is played with playing cards bearing poker hand values, instead of Pai Gow’s Chinese dominoes). The games of Pai Gow poker and Super Pan-9 were created by Sam Torosian and Fred Wolf.

The game is played with a standard 52-card deck, plus a single joker. It is played on a table set for six players, plus the dealer. Each player attempts to defeat the banker (who may be the casino dealer, or one of the other players at the table).

Blackjack 21

Some players call the game blackjack and some call it twenty-one. No matter what you call it, the object of the game was best described in the title of Edward O Thorp’s 1963 best selling book that started the blackjack revolution. The title of the book and the objective of the game is Beat the Dealer!
Blackjack is played with one, two, four, six or eight decks of cards. Some casino are also using continuous shuffling machine. In single and double deck games the dealer holds the cards and deals them out. In multi-deck games the cards are dealt out of a tray like box that is called a shoe. The casinos are stating to look at continuous shufflers that are a shoe that shuffle as well as hold the cards.

In hand held games the cards are dealt face down and the player is allowed to pick up his cards. In a shoe game the cards are dealt face up to the player and you are not allowed to touch your cards. The basic play for either game is the same.

Objective
The objective of the game is to beat the dealer. If your cards total higher than the dealer’s cards without going over 21 you win. You are not trying to get close to 21. If your hand or the dealer’s hand goes over 21 you “Bust.” If you bust you automatically lose. If the dealer busts and you do not you win. The player must act first. If the player busts he loses regardless if the dealer busts or not.
